LETTERING
In an effort to familiarize the student with what maybe considered good lettering design for cake decorat-ing purposes, we have devoted the next few pages tothree representative styles with complete alphabets. The letters are large enough to be traced directly orthey may be used as guides to prepare alphabets inother sizes.
Individual letters in a word may be evenly spaced, butthe lettering will be more pleasing to the eye if thespacing is adjusted according to the open space in andaround each letter. For example: O's and C's havelarge open spaces and may be placed more closely toadjacent letters, while I's, M's, N's, etc., should havemore space.
