POPPY
Fill a No. 104 tube cone with brilliant red icing. Sticka square of waxed paper on your No. 7 nail. Start-ing in the center of the nail, the heavy end of thetube is touching the nail with the small end standingout. Move the tube out about 1/4 of an inch with aseries of sharp back and forth motions. Turn the nailslightly and come back with the tube, relaxing pres-sure. These back and forth motions give the poppy
a fluted effect. This same procedure is followed inmaking the four large petals. Starting at the verymiddle of the first four petals, three more petals aremade in the same manner. To give the poppy a life-like effect, insert a bunch of black tipped paperstamens. There are two types of poppies-the 7 or 4petaled flower. Make whichever you desire.
